Benbrook Elementary School Students Awarded Bicycles for Academic Excellence

Hundreds of Benbrook Elementary school students will be awarded bicycles for achieving their reading goals for the semester.  The kindergarten through third-grade students will also receive free helmets.  The generous donation is made possible by Elves and More which annually donates bicycles to students.   The City of Houston Bicyclist-Pedestrian department also donated two bicycle racks for Benbrook Elementary. 

Who:       HISD Board of Education Trustee Anna Eastman, Benbrook Elementary school students, parents and administrators, Elves and More volunteers, City of Houston Bicyclist-Pedestrian Coordinator Dan Raine, Tour De Hood founder Dr. Veon McReynolds and Rainforest Café’ mascot Cha!Cha! the tree frog

What:        Kindergarten through third grade Benbrook Elementary school students will receive 270 free bicycles and helmets from Elves and More. 

When:      Saturday; December 15, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 Where:    Benbrook Elementary School (4026 Bolin)
